Tara Tarini Temple, set on Kumari Hill above the Rushikulya river near Berhampur, is one of the oldest and most significant Shakti Peethas of Odisha, dedicated to twin goddess forms Tara and Tarini. Its hilltop position over the river makes it as much a scenic destination as a pilgrimage one.
A ropeway connects the base to the hilltop shrine, making the site accessible without a strenuous climb, and it remains one of southern Odisha's most visited temples, particularly during the Chaitra Mela festival period.
