Southern Odisha Heritage Tour

Bhubaneswar — Berhampur — Taptapani — Gopalpur — Tara Tarini

Southern Odisha rarely appears on standard itineraries because it sits off the Bhubaneswar–Puri axis, yet the Berhampur–Taptapani–Gopalpur triangle covers a hilltop Shakti Peetha, a natural hot spring and a genuinely quiet colonial-era beach town within a single, short driving loop.

The route works because Berhampur is a natural overnight base about 3.5 hours from Bhubaneswar, from which Taptapani, Tara Tarini and Gopalpur are all under an hour's drive — no site requires backtracking through the others.

We built this for travellers who have already done the Puri–Konark circuit and want a second Odisha trip with a different character: forested hills, a working hot spring and an uncrowded coastline.

Tour highlights

  • Tara Tarini Shakti Peetha on the Kumari hills
  • Taptapani natural sulphur hot spring
  • Gopalpur-on-Sea lighthouse and beach
  • Berhampur's silk-weaving lanes
  • Quiet coastal drives with minimal crowds
