Coastal Odisha
Astaranga
A little-visited fishing-coast beach north of Puri, known locally for olive ridley turtle nesting in some seasons.
Astaranga lies along the coast north-east of Puri, well off the standard Puri–Konark tourist run, and remains a working fishing coastline rather than a developed beach destination. In some years, olive ridley sea turtles nest on nearby stretches of this coast, echoing the larger, better-known Gahirmatha rookery further north.
It suits visitors specifically wanting an undeveloped beach experience or a specific interest in the turtle nesting season, rather than general sightseeing.

- Occasional olive ridley turtle nesting activity
- A genuinely quiet alternative to Puri's beachfront
- Traditional fishing village life along the shore
Things to do
