Raghurajpur
A heritage crafts village where nearly every household practises Pattachitra painting, palm-leaf engraving or mask-making.
Raghurajpur is a single street of about 120 artisan houses near Puri, each painted with traditional motifs, where Pattachitra scroll painting, palm-leaf etching, stone and wood carving and Gotipua dance training all continue as living family trades rather than museum displays.
It is one of the few places in Odisha where visitors can watch an entire craft process — grinding pigments, stretching cloth, painting fine linework — in a single short visit, and buy directly from the artist's family.
