Extended Odisha Discovery Tour
Bhubaneswar — Puri — Konark — Chilika — Daringbadi — Similipal — Baripada — Sambalpur
This is our statewide itinerary for travellers who want one trip to stand in for several — coastal temples, a lagoon, a hill station, a tiger reserve and a heritage town in the west — sequenced so no leg backtracks and every long drive is followed by a rest day rather than another long drive.
The route runs coast-first (Bhubaneswar–Puri–Konark–Chilika), then climbs into Kandhamal's hills at Daringbadi, before the two demanding transfers of the trip — to Similipal via Baripada, and finally toward Sambalpur — each scheduled as its own travel day with no sightseeing squeezed in.
Twelve days is the realistic minimum to do this without exhausting the group; shorter versions exist in this catalogue for each individual region, and this tour is best suited to travellers with the time for a proper cross-section of Odisha rather than a single theme.
Tour highlights
- Bhubaneswar temple city and Konark Sun Temple
- Chilika Lake dolphin waters at Satapada
- Daringbadi's coffee and pepper plantations
- Similipal National Park safari (seasonal, permit-dependent)
- Sambalpur and Hirakud Dam
