This is the coastal-and-lagoon counterpart to the Golden Triangle: instead of routing back to Bhubaneswar's temples, the third day turns south toward Chilika, giving the trip a beach-and-water character rather than a heritage-only one. It works well as a single add-on itinerary for travellers who have already seen Bhubaneswar on an earlier visit.

Satapada is used for the dolphin boat ride rather than Barkul, since it is the closer access point from Puri and keeps the day trip to a manageable length.
